We are delighted to announce that our studios have re-opened after a major refurbishment.

“In the words of Simon and Garfunkel ‘Gee but it's great to be back home'” says Steve Bellamy, KGH Radio Station Manager.

“Having spent several years developing our service and facilities we found ourselves moving to temporary facilities for our refurbishment.

"Thanks to superb work by both our engineer and colleagues from the KGH Estates and Facilities department we were able to completely refurbish the studios and upgrade our technical capabilities to a professional level.”

To celebrate, Steve and his team invited members of the Hospital team to attend a special ribbon cutting, including Debbie Needham Hospital Chief Executive.

On the feedback KGHRadio receives, Steve said “It is good to get very positive feedback about our service from around KGH – both from patients and colleagues. We look forward to further increasing our reach within the Hospital through the roll-out of smart speakers”.

The station is operated 100% by volunteers and are always looking for new members to support their cause in a number of roles, not just presenters.
